Easter Creatures

It all started on the Saturday morning before Easter.

~
At breakfast, Asya looked at Toli and said: What if we hid Easter Eggs all over Miami with something in them?"
~
Toli replied: NFTs?

EasterCreatures was born.

The idea was simple, but simple enough to implement in 24hours? The plan:1. Collect creature drawings from children across Miami + globally.2. Turn these creatures into an NFT collection, print QR codes of them, put codes into eggs, hide them all over Miami.3. Not break up with each other

And the result?

Well we are now in therapy. We're just kidding! We’re still together and the eggs have been placed throughout Miami, with a bulk of them in Wynwood (strong crypto+art scene of Miami). At the time of writing, 21 eggs have be found.

How it Went.

What was hard? besides the eggs :)
Going from an idea to actually being committed and getting over the thought that “this will go nowhere". - Toli
Asking random parents on the beach if we could utilize their children’s imagination and wondering if Miami was going to sue us. - Asya
What went smooth? besides the eggs :))
*Going around and putting eggs in shit and the Novel implementation. *- Toli
By the time we were ready to print QR codes Sat night, printing shops were closed. We panicked bc we had a 12hr deadline. But then we ordered a printer via Target that was delivered to our front door in less than an hour later. I was never happier to see a printer. - Asya
What was surprising? With covid and such, we weren’t sure if people would 1. find and 2. actually pop open and egg, much less scan it. But more than 50% of people who picked up an egg minted and over 20% of eggs got picked up within 5 hours. Also we didn't even consider how a project like this is a great way to get to know a neighborhood & community (we’re new here!)What we loved?
The encouragement from the community. For example ~
A club owner let us put eggs all over his club and then invited us to a party next week.
A doctor said he wished he was living our life vs becoming a doctor.
A parking ticket man stopped giving tickets and came to get an egg.
A 4 year old girl on vacation from UK was “thrilled to find by chance one of the eggs and wants to be a part of it."

Thank You For All Who Supported Us!

And stay tuned for our next project!<3 Toli and Asya

** Fine details of the project.**We wanted to get kids involved in art+tech, so our model was: children create the creatures and we make NFTs out of them. 33% profits go to the children for their future edu funds, 33% to the egg finder, 33% to project creators to fund future creative projects/experiments. On Sunday Apr 24, we will be doing our reveal, and people will be seeing what their eggs hatch!Even though the initial NFT is completely free, they will be able to resell their tokens on OpenSea for whatever value they want. The royalties on secondary sales go back to funding the kids’ education in tech and future imaginative projects to encourage creative and technical innovation in children.EGGS THAT WE CAN FINALLY DROP!

Learn by Doing.

What we're learning by doing these 24h projects/experiments is that it can be really easy to stay stuck in our mind with ideas and not get into action to bring them into reality.
But we cannot even really imagine what experience will teach us firsthand.
So grab a weekend, and do that project/experiment you’ve been wanting to do!
Humans love humans doing different, new courageous stuff.
Even if it is just some Easter egg project, you’ll be supported. And, you’ll feel alive.
So get out there, experiment & let us know how it goes.

Get in touch.

We'd love to hear from you.
